The non-adherent cotton gauze dressing is impregnated with white petrolatum to aid in healing by creating a moist wound environment. Petrolatum gauze is not absorbent; rather it's designed to be a primary dressing and protect the wound with moisture to support healing. It's recommended to use an absorbent wound dressing when needing to wick away wound exudate for low exuding wounds.The petrolatum dressing directly conforms to the wound bed and therefore is packaged sterile to not contaminate the wound which supports faster healing. DermaRite Impregnated Petrolatum Gauze Dressing is latex-free and is made of hypoallergenic cotton. It clings nicely to the body wound contour making it an ideal dressing for low to non-exuding wounds such as donor sites, skin grafts, burns, abrasions and lacerations.
