Smith & Nephew Acticoat Flex 3 Silver-Coated Antimicrobial Barrier Dressing, 2" x 2", Sterile
2" x 2" Silver Barrier Dressing for Infected and At-Risk Wounds
Product Description
Managing infected or infection-prone wounds requires a dressing that delivers sustained antimicrobial protection without compromising comfort or wound contact. Standard silver dressings may be stiff, difficult to conform to body contours, or require frequent changes that disrupt the healing environment. Patients and caregivers need a flexible, low-adherent solution that provides rapid and lasting antimicrobial action while remaining gentle on the wound bed
The Smith & Nephew Acticoat Flex 3 Dressing is designed to address these needs. This 2" x 2" sterile dressing combines nanocrystalline silver (Silcryst) technology with a flexible, low-adherent polyester layer that conforms closely to body contours to maintain contact with the wound surface . The dressing provides bactericidal activity within 30 minutes and delivers a sustained antimicrobial barrier effective for up to 3 days . The low-adherent construction helps minimize wound trauma at dressing changes, and the dressing can be cut to size for a customized fit
This Smith & Nephew dressing is designed for versatility across a range of wound types. It is indicated for partial and full-thickness wounds including first- and second-degree burns, graft and donor sites, surgical sites, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, and diabetic ulcers . The dressing may be used as a primary or secondary dressing and can be combined with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) for up to 3 days . It is sterile and not made with natural rubber latex . Each box contains 5 individually wrapped dressings

Why Choose Smith & Nephew
- Better than basic silver dressings:
Unlike stiffer silver dressings that may not maintain close contact with irregular wound beds, the Acticoat Flex 3 features a highly conformable polyester layer that follows body contours for consistent wound contact . The nanocrystalline silver structure provides a large surface area for sustained silver release, helping to maintain bactericidal activity over the wear period . - Designed for comfort and wound protection:
The low-adherent design helps reduce pain and trauma at dressing changes, making it a more comfortable option for patients with sensitive or fragile wounds . The flexible construction allows the dressing to move with the body, supporting comfort during daily activities. - Reliable clinical choice:
As part of the trusted Acticoat family, the Flex 3 variant is specifically engineered for flexibility and conformability, making it suitable for challenging wound locations and irregular shapes. The 2" x 2" size is ideal for smaller wounds or as a contact layer under secondary dressings
