Smith & Nephew Duramax S Silicone Super Absorbent Dressing, Non-Bordered, 4" x 4", Sterile

4" x 4" Super Absorbent Silicone Dressing for Moderate-to-Heavy Exudate

Product Description

Managing wounds with moderate to heavy drainage requires a dressing that can absorb and lock in viscous exudate without causing maceration or irritation to the surrounding skin. Standard dressings may become saturated quickly, require frequent changes, and can adhere to the wound bed, causing pain and trauma during removal. Patients and caregivers need a highly absorbent, gentle solution that stays comfortably in place and supports a moist healing environment

The Smith & Nephew Duramax S Silicone Super Absorbent Dressing is designed to address these needs. This 4" x 4" sterile, non-bordered dressing features a unique 6-layer structure with a central super absorbent polymer core that absorbs and retains exudate, even under compression . The cross-linked silicone wound contact layer does not adhere to the wound bed, minimizing pain upon removal or dressing change . The breathable, non-occlusive outer film allows for a moist environment while helping to prevent maceration and irritation of the wound bed and periwound tissue

This Smith & Nephew dressing is designed for versatility and comfort. The non-bordered design requires a secondary retention method such as tape or a bandage to hold it in place. It is indicated for malodorous wounds with moderate to heavy exudate levels, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous and arterial leg ulcers, first- and second-degree burns, post-operative wounds, and traumatic wounds . The dressing is sterile, latex-free, and can be left in place for up to 7 days depending on exudate levels . Each box contains 10 individually wrapped dressings

Why Choose Smith & Nephew
  1. Better than basic absorbent dressings:
Unlike standard gauze or foam dressings that may become saturated quickly and adhere to the wound bed, the Duramax S features a super absorbent polymer core that locks in exudate and a silicone contact layer that does not stick to the wound . This combination provides superior exudate management and atraumatic removal, making it a more comfortable and effective choice for heavily exuding wounds.
  2. Designed for skin protection:
The dressing's high retention capacity and breathable outer film help prevent maceration and irritation of the periwound skin, a common concern with heavily exuding wounds . The gentle silicone contact layer is suitable for fragile or sensitive skin.
  3. Reliable performance under compression:
The Duramax S can absorb and retain fluid even under standard compression therapy, making it a versatile option for managing venous leg ulcers and other wounds requiring compression
